Will is an incoming Core Surgical Trainee in North London with an interest in medical education. He designed and lead the founding committee and oversaw growth of NSTS for three years after the society's inception.

Co-founder, Webmaster, Head of Logistics- Dr James Brice
F3 - London
James graduate from University of Cambridge in 2021 before completing his foundation programme across Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital in London. As a founding member of NSTS, he acted as Head of Logistics.
Publicity Officer - Dr Claire Jang
Claire has a special interest in plastics, IR and clinical communication. Having worked as publicity officer for committees of medical and non-medical societies, she hopes to bring opportunities to many aspiring surgeons through NSTS.
Publicity Officer - Preena Patel
Preena is pursuing a career in surgery specifically, ENT and general surgery. Her main research interests are within medical physics. Outside her degree, she enjoys cycling, cheerleading and gymnastics.
Publicity Officer - Musa China
Musa aspires to pursue a career in either surgery or neurology. He hopes to use his previous experiences as a member of research teams and peer-led teaching programmes to further support and promote NSTS surgical teaching. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing tennis and supporting Chelsea FC

Co-Founder, Vice-President, Communications Head - Dr Jessie Shea
CT1 - London
Jessie has strong interests in medical education and research, having helped found NSTS during 2020 to increase the provision of free surgical teaching throughout the UK. Following core training she hopes to specialise in vascular surgery, where she’s excited to continue to build on her research interests in both aortic and venous disease
Communications Officer - Prisca Singh
Prisca is pursuing a career in surgery, with an interest in neurosurgery. Outside of medicine, she enjoys archery, windsurfing and baking.
Publicity Officer - Shivani Shukla
Shivani is looking to pursue surgery with a specific interest in the application of regenerative medicine. She plays badminton and enjoys painting in her free time.
Publicity Officer - Zahra Motie
Zahrah is an aspiring surgeon with interests in plastics, general surgery and urology. Having worked as Social Secretary for committees at university, she hopes to utilise these skills in promoting surgical teaching through NSTS. Outside of medicine, she is a keen foodie but equally enjoys keeping fit.
Publicity Officer - Nadya Ang
Nadya is an aspiring surgeon with an interest in ENT, plastics and urology. She has experience in teaching and has held positions in several committees. Outside of medicine, she enjoys keeping active and building her home cocktail bar.

Vice-President + Education Head - Dr Kate Gargan
Kate is one of the founding committee members of NSTS and was Co-Vice-President of NSTS and Education Lead for 3 years from the society's inception. She has a keen interest in medical education and played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the society's educational initiatives. She is currently a plastics-themed core surgical trainee in London
Education Officer - Dr Jennifer Townsend
ST1 Obs and Gynae
Jennifer graduated from the University of Leeds with an MBChB and a BSc in International Health. Here she gained experience with leadership roles, medical education and research. She is aspiring towards a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with interests in global health and maternal education. She very much enjoyed gaining surgical skills working in Urology and General Surgery as an FY1.
Education Officer - Dr Howell Fu
Howell is a current F2 and aspiring orthopod; he is also keen on medical education. Outside of medicine, he has plans to eventually finish walks of the entire Thames Path and Ridgeway.
Education Officer - Dr Byung Choi
Byung graduated from Barts and the London and plans to do Core Surgical Training with ambitions to pursue a career in breast and general surgery. Has a keen interest in medical education with experience in working on committees at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Education Officer - Dr Innocent Ogunmwonyi
Innocent is an FY1 Doctor currently working in London, having graduated from the University of Cambridge. He is passionate about using the power of education to tackle problems such as differential attainment and increasing access to surgery.
Education Officer - Dr Lois Duncan
Lois is passionate about surgery, with interests currently in Trauma Orthopaedics, Global Surgery and Medical Education. Outside medicine, she enjoys beach walks, cats and playing piano.
Education Officer - Dr Ben Murphy
Ben is taking an FY3 year as a bank doctor working across multiple specialties. He has 8 months T&O and 4 months General surgical experience from his FY training. Medical education is a keen interest of his, and he is looking forward to pursuing this further as part of the NSTS team. Outside the hospital he competes regularly in triathlons.

Dr Kien Hang
Kien is a 4th-year medical student at UCL. He has a keen interest in medical and surgical technology and is the Director of the International Undergraduate & Foundation Surgery Conference. In his spare time, he enjoys graphic design, videography and is an avid jump rope enthusiast
Dr Alice Gargan
Alice is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Registrar in London and a Founding Committee Member of NSTS. She has a passion for Surgical Education with a particular interest in advancements in Augmented Reality as a teaching adjunct. Alice hopes to inspire future women in surgery and forms part of the research committee The NSTS Project ‘MANELS’. Personally Alice is a very keen on sports and fitness.
Jeremy Cheong
Jeremy is enthusiastic about surgery especially in the field of Neurosurgery, Plastic surgery and General Surgery. His passion is to increase accessibility and remove barriers to surgical learning using technology to enhance surgical teaching.
Dr Aqua Asif
Aqua is an aspiring surgeon with a passion for medical education and statistics; her love for these originated during her first degree. Being an avid graphic designer with international reach, she hopes to utilise these skills for NSTS. Outside of her studies, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, attending concerts, and competitive online gaming.
Dr Maria Georgi
Maria is an aspiring surgeon with a particular interest in research and education. Being the President of UCL Surgical Society, she aims to continue to help make innovation and surgical teaching more accessible through NSTS.
Arya Pontula
Arya has special interests in cardiothoracics and neurosurgery, as well as statistics and public health, and hopes to pursue research alongside surgery. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with family, running, swimming, hiking, and playing piano.

Co-founder, Research Lead - Dr Lawrence Tan
Lawrence graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2021 before completing his Foundation Years in Tunbridge Wells and Guy’s & St Thomas’. As an NSTS founding member Lawrence, operated as Research Lead and on the Education team.

Monty is an aspiring academic vascular surgeon with particular interest in the application of technology in medical education.

Alex is an Academic Foundation doctor in surgery with the University of Cambridge. He is an aspiring urologist and is particularly interested in research, technology, and photography.
